Yule is the longest night. Around December 21 or 22, the sun in the Northern Hemisphere reaches its lowest point. We assume this was also an important moment in the Stone Age, because a number of megalithic structures were designed in such a way that the sunlight could fall into the interior of the temple at Midwinter.
